Awami League’s popularity increased, says Hasan Mahmud

Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud Tuesday said the popularity of his party has increased to a great extent following the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister of Sheikh Hasina.

He stated this at a discussion arranged by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) marking the historical Mujib Nagar Day in city’s Shilpakala Academy.

Former State Minister for Home Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, Vice Chancellor of World University Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, AL Dhaka City South unit General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Joint Secretary Kamal Chowdhury, among others, spoke with Jote general secretary Arun Sarker Rana in the chair.

“AL candidates got more votes than BNP candidates in different elections though the AL candidate was defeated in Comilla City Corporation,” Hasan Mahmud said.

Hailing the BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s announcement of participating in the next general elections, Mahmud said before that they (BNP) should apologize to the nation as they had killed many innocent people by throwing petrol bombs. April 2017
