Indian cooperation can reduce border killing to zero level: BGB DG

Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh Maj Gen Abul Hossain has said border killing can be reduced to zero level if Indian authorities ensure their cooperation.

“After taking over charge [as the BGB chief], I’m monitoring the border situation on regular basis. The border situation has improved in the recent past,” he said.

The BGB chief came up with the remarks while talking to reporters during a visit to Tin Bigha Corridor in Patgram upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, he visited Panbari BGB camp near the Tin Bigha Corridor where he was welcomed by BS Patil, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) of Uttarbangha frontier.

Brig Gen Shahriar Ahmmed of BGB Rangpur Region, Col Moazzem Hossain, commanding officer of Rangpur sector, Lt Col Ahmed Bazlur Rahman Hayati, commanding officer of Lalmonithat BGB battalion-15 were present on the occasion.
