Bangladesh build with Mominul fifty

Bangladesh batsman, Mominul Haque scored his 11th half-century in Tests, against New Zealnd in the first of the two-match Test series at the Basin Reserve in Wellingto on Thusday.

His fifty came off 79 deliveries including nine boundaries and one over boundary along with a strike-rate of almost 62.

Currently, Bangladesh are 132 for the loss of two wickets in 32 overs with Mominul Haque on 52 and Mahmudullah on 22.

Opener Tamim Iqbal rode his luck in a rapid 56 off 50 balls before Trent Boult trapped him lbw.

Imrul Kayes falls in the early morning, in the fourth over, hooking a short ball from Tim Southee and picking out Boult at deep square leg.

The weather may play a major role in the opening day, with forecasted gale winds, gusting up to 120km/h.

Earlier, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss on a Basin Reserve pitch and asked Bangladesh to bat first.

Bangladesh have never beaten New Zealand in a Test and are coming off six losses in the Twenty20 and one-day internationals against the Kiwis.
